The most important position on the football field in the NFL is under center at quarterback, as the majority of the teams on the professional usually can’t compete for a Super Bowl title without having a formidable leader at the position.

That said, many NFL teams are viewed as legitimate threats in their respective divisions and conferences if they have a superstar or perennial Pro Bowler taking every snap, as this drastically improves teams’ chances of winning on a weekly basis and going the distance in the NFL playoffs.

One trait that most superstar quarterbacks tend to possess is the ability to come through in clutch situations, such as when the game is on the line in the fourth quarter, and their team needs a big play or a game-winning drive.

Thus far in the 2024 NFL regular season, quarterback play around the league hasn’t been very impressive, as superstars under center are taking longer than usual to put it all together.

However, there are still some superstar quarterbacks who have shown why they are as good as they are throughout the first three weeks of the 2024 campaign, with Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports coming up with a list of the 10-best quarterbacks in crunch time via The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

This is a pretty solid list from Cowherd, with Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs) sitting at the top, followed by Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills), who is playing like the best quarterback in the NFL right now, and Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), who’s team is struggling, but he is still playing at a high level.

There seems to be a significant drop off in talent from Burrow as Cowherd went with Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams), Aaron Rodgers (New York Jets), CJ Stroud (Houston Texans), Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers), Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers), Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys) and Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens).
