At one point in time, Jon Gruden was considered to be one of the best head coaches in the NFL, as he had success with the Oakland Raiders and then with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who he helped lead to a Super Bowl title over his former team.

Unfortunately for Gruden, success hasn’t been easy to find as a head coach in the league since winning that title with the Buccaneers two decades ago, as he couldn’t get Tampa Bay back to the big game, nor was he able to lead the Raiders to success in his second stint with the storied NFL franchise.

Even though Gruden was getting some traction with the Raiders after they moved to Las Vegas from Oakland, the veteran head coach got caught up in an off-the-field scandal, which resulted in his resignation and a tarnished legacy.

A few years removed from the scandal that resulted in his premature resignation, Gruden has the itch to get back into coaching in the NFL but doesn’t seem to have teams calling with interest in his services.

During an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Gruden admitted to wanting to be the leader on the sideline in the NFL again but is currently focused on his YouTube channel.

“If someone’s looking for somebody to coach I’ll be in the bullpen, we’ll see what happens, but I have a great Youtube Channel we’re very excited about and I’m putting all my focus in that now,” Gruden said.

With Gruden still being a great football mind, there’s a chance he’ll get another shot in the NFL in the future, but there’s no telling when or if that will happen.

Only time will tell if Gruden can return to coaching at some point and positively impact his legacy after all that has happened.
