The Houston Texans are one of the few teams in the NFL who are undefeated through two weeks and they’ll put that record to the test in Week 3 when they take on the Minnesota Vikings.
Like the Texans, the Vikings are also 2-0 but are doing it with less talent on the offensive end as they’ve got Sam Darnold starting at quarterback.
Darnold signed with Minnesota in the offseason and will be the starter for the remainder of the 2024 NFL season after rookie J.J. McCarthy underwent meniscus surgery.
On the other side, Houston’s got C.J. Stroud who is looking like the next young superstar quarterback in the league after a strong rookie year.
Stroud hasn’t quite hit the same level he showed last season, but is still showing improvement in key areas.
Ahead of the Week 3 matchup against Minnesota, Stroud couldn’t help but gush about head coach Kevin O’Connell via The Purple Persuasion.
“I love Kevin O’Connell,” Stroud said. “I think he’s a great coordinator, I think he’s a great leader. I think he’s somebody who played quarterback, so he understands what it is to be back there. So I’m a huge fan of his.”

O’Connell has established himself as one of the best offensive minds in the NFL today and he’s deserving of the praise from Stroud because of his track record.
O’Connell has seemingly found the recipe for offensive success no matter who’s lining up under center for him, so the Texans will need to come prepared if they hope to pull off another win.
