One of the most successful families in the history of the NFL arrived with Archie Manning playing for the New Orleans Saints, where he became a legend playing for the franchise for over a decade.

As if making the College Football Hall of Fame and being named a two-time Pro Bowler wasn’t impressive enough, two of his sons became multiple Super Bowl champions, with Peyton Manning and Eli Manning each lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy twice during their storied football careers.

These days, another member of the family is making a name for himself on the college level, with Arch Manning becoming the starting quarterback at the University of Texas, which is currently the No. 1 team in the country.

Arch Manning has the starting job due to an injury suffered by Quinn Ewers, and it appears the Longhorns are going to move forward with the underclassman.

However, the Manning family reportedly isn’t thrilled that he’s starting because Ewers was injured.

They also don’t believe this new role will speed up his path to the NFL.

“One of my source(s) in the Manning family told me this: We are old school and you never lose your job from an injury,” ESPN host Pat McAfee wrote on X. “… Everybody assumes that Arch is on a fast track to the NFL but that isn’t true. … He wants to develop and stay in Steve Sarkisian’s system.”

It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the season pans out for Arch Manning and what the future holds for him on the NFL level.

Even though he’s got quite a legacy to follow, the Manning family seems confident he’ll be fine when the time comes to make the jump from college to the pros.
