The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs have gotten off to a perfect 2-0 start to the 2024 NFL season, with Patrick Mahomes and company trying to set themselves up to make NFL history with three straight Super Bowl titles won.

However, the Chiefs haven’t looked as good as expected in the early going, as they struggled against the Baltimore Ravens in the season opener and against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.

Along with the Chiefs not exactly firing on all cylinders two weeks into the 2024 campaign, Kansas City suffered a costly loss to their offense against the Bengals, with star running back Isiah Pacheco going down with an injury that will keep him sidelined for the next six to eight weeks.

With Pacheco, who racked up 189 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown in the two games he played, out for potentially two months, the Chiefs have pivoted quickly with a very viable option in veteran running back Kareem Hunt, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

Hunt played the first two years of his career in the NFL with the Chiefs, where he got off to a great start with a Pro Bowl nod in his rookie season in 2017.

However, some off-the-field incidents resulted in the Chiefs cutting ties with the talented running back, who then signed and played for the Cleveland Browns for the last five seasons.

Despite not having superstar back Nick Chubb back healthy to start the 2024 season, the Browns chose not to bring Hunt back, who will get a second chance with the Chiefs to fill the void left by Pacheco.
