Last season, when Aaron Rodgers’ maiden voyage with the New York Jets was aborted during their first offensive series of Week 1, their offensive line was seen as very weak.
It was a major concern going into this season, and thus management addressed that concern during the offseason.
Rodgers told the media that he has had good pass protection to start this season, especially in Week 2 when the Jets defeated the Tennessee Titans, giving him his first win with his new team.
Joe Douglas deserves a standing ovation for flipping the #Jets offensive line this offseason.
‘Yeah I mean the pocket has been pretty bucolic I would say the first couple weeks. It’s been real nice back there,’ Aaron Rodgers said with a smile. 😄

The biggest change to New York’s offensive line this year has been the addition of left tackle Tyron Smith, a veteran who has made eight Pro Bowls in his 13 previous seasons in the NFL.
Even after their opening week loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Pro Football Network ranked their offensive line seventh in the league, which was a dramatic improvement from last year.
Rodgers didn’t look extremely productive against the 49ers, but against Tennessee on Sunday, he went 18 of 30 and threw two touchdown passes while getting sacked only twice.
He tore his Achilles in Week 1 of last season, and while he may not have looked like his vintage self to start this season, he has shown some promising signs.
New York has two very winnable games coming up in the next two weeks versus the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos before they visit the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5.
By the time they head up north to take on Justin Jefferson and crew, they could easily be 3-1 and looking like a legitimate playoff team thanks in part to their much-improved offensive line.
