Power forwards are very important parts of every NBA team and franchises can’t find long-term success without them.

These players are often the people who hold a team together, which is one of the many reasons they’re so vital.

Speaking on his show, per NBACentral, Patrick Beverley listed his top five power forwards in the NBA right now.

He said that Karl-Anthony Towns, Zion Williamson, Jaren Jackson Jr., Lauri Markkanen, and Draymond Green are the best of the best when it comes to power forwards.

Meanwhile, he claimed that Giannis Antetokounmpo is not a power forward and is like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and a few other players because he plays “positionless” basketball.

These are five of the biggest names in the game and each of them have one thing in common: they can absolutely dominate on the court.

A power forward is often tasked with using strength and power to shut down other teams and score a lot.

Each of these men is capable of doing that.

However, some have more success than others.

Green is the only champion on this list and the Golden State Warriors have repeatedly cited Green’s contributions as a major reason why they won four championships.

The rest of the people listed by Beverley are trying to find that same level of success.

Towns got closer than ever last year as his Minnesota Timberwolves stormed far into the playoffs.

They are still a team to watch, as are Jackson’s Memphis Grizzlies and Williamson’s New Orleans Pelicans.

Which of these players will be the most successful power forward in the league this season and do any of them have a chance of being a champion?
