The 2023 season didn’t go according to plan for the Carolina Panthers.

Bryce Young’s rookie campaign underwhelmed expectations, to say the least, and the team finished with a league-worst 2-15 record.

Not exactly what the team wanted from the No. 1 overall pick.

They headed into the 2024 campaign with the hope that another offseason could help him grow and develop, but that hasn’t been the case to this point.

Young has once again failed to deliver on what the Panthers hoped for, and as a result, as Tom Pelissero recently reported, they’re going to Andy Dalton in Week 3.

Dalton is a longtime NFL veteran, and he has ample experience leading a team.

He might not have the highest ceiling, but it’s safe to say, at least at this moment in time, that his floor is higher than Young’s.

Upon hearing this news, fans quickly took to X to express their feelings on the situation.

If the fan response is any indication, this benching doesn’t come as much of a shock.

Young hasn’t lit the world on fire, especially when compared to C.J. Stroud.

Stroud won Offensive Rookie of the Year last season and has quickly picked up where he left off.

The Panthers QB has yet to catch that same fire, and Dalton will step in to try and limit any damage.

Starting the season with a 0-3 record is suboptimal, and the Panthers are hoping Dalton can help them get a win on the board to salvage something of their season.
