Jon Bon Jovi, the lead vocalist of the rock band Bon Jovi, has been something of a household name since the 1980s when his group became famous.

He has branched out into other areas, including acting, restaurant ownership and even owning sports teams.

About 10 years ago, Bon Jovi was in the running to purchase the Buffalo Bills, but his prospective ownership group lost out and the team was sold to Terry Pegula.

Though Bon Jovi, a New Jersey native, admitted he doesn’t root for the Bills, he recently said he could’ve created opportunities for the team, including naming rights and a new stadium.

“I thought as a younger guy, I really had a different vision of what we could bring to the league and it was instant that we could bring to the Bills even a higher level of … opportunity,” Bon Jovi said, via “Games With Names.”

The Bills have played in what is now known as Highmark Stadium since 1973, and it was only months ago that they finally secured a new stadium that is scheduled to open in 2026.

They continue to have a strong following in western and upstate New York, despite continued playoff disappointments over the years.

Since the 2020 season, the Bills have been considered perennial contenders but have made just one trip to the AFC Championship Game during that time.

Of course, the Bills are infamous for going to the Super Bowl four straight times in the early 1990s, only to lose each time.

That old curse seemed to strike again in last season’s divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs when Tyler Bass missed a 44-yard field goal attempt that would’ve tied the game with less than two minutes left.

Bon Jovi may have not ended up owning the Bills, but he did make headlines in a positive way recently when he talked a woman out of jumping off a bridge in Nashville.
