The Week 2 game between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins became a very worrisome one for Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered his third diagnosed concussion in the past two calendar years and was forced to leave the contest.

The rest of his career is now in doubt, as a number of people around the NFL have encouraged him to retire for the sake of his family and his health.

But in a touching move, Bills fans have made significant donations to The Tua Foundation, which helps support the health and well-being of children.

“The Tua Foundation received over $16,000 in donations overnight, with a large majority coming from Bills fans,” The Sporting News wrote on X.

The Bills Mafia, the moniker Buffalo fans are often collectively known as, can be a rough and raucous bunch, but they have shown a tremendous amount of class in the wake of Tagovailoa’s latest setback.

He suffered two concussions during the 2022 season, and that was when people first started to suggest he should call it quits.

He admitted he did consider retirement that offseason, but he instead adapted his training to learn how to fall in a way that his head wouldn’t withstand as much of an impact.

The Bills easily defeated the Dolphins in the early-season AFC East showdown, and even without four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who they traded away this offseason, they’re looking like the best team in the division again.

Third-year wideout Khalil Shakir may be developing into a star, and the same is true for third-year running back James Cook, who scored three touchdowns against Miami.
