The Green Bay Packers got quite the scare during their Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.

Very late in the game, star quarterback Jordan Love went down with an injury that was later revealed to be a sprained MCL.

The original timeline given for Love’s return was 3-6 weeks, but it seems he could be back sooner rather than later, maybe even in Week 2.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur gave a very encouraging update to Packers fans on Love’s recovery and the possibility of playing against the Indianapolis Colts.

“He’s gonna do everything he can to be out there and we’ll give him the week,” LaFleur said, via 97.3 The Game.

This is incredible news if you are a Packers fan.

At first, most feared the worst, but it turns out Love didn’t suffer a catastrophic season-ending knee injury.

There is something about the Green Bay quarterbacks. Whether it was Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, or now Love, they appear to be as tough as they come.

Even if Love is not able to play in Week 2, the most important thing for Green Bay is that the injury doesn’t appear to be a long-term issue.

Malik Willis would get the start if Love is ruled out.

The Packers traded for Willis, a former third-round pick of the Tennessee Titans, at the end of the preseason to be the backup.

Life comes at you fast in the NFL, and Willis could be on the cusp of getting his first start for the Packers just weeks after arriving.
