“The clash between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump was perhaps the last major opportunity for the vice president to define herself in front of a massive audience,” Politico reports.
“But rather than dwell on policy or shade in finer points of her biography, Harris seized the momentum coming out of the debate by laying waste to the record and character of her Republican rival.”
“Harris’ aides on Wednesday were convening to discuss ways to build off of that success in what Democrats view as a pivotal stretch of the compressed campaign that is covered with potential minefields. Harris has to rally people inclined to support her to come to the polls — the traditional late-stage phase of campaigns known as GOTV — while at the same time introduce herself to potential new voters in crucial battlegrounds, which typically starts in the months leading up the presidential primaries and caucuses, not in the immediate weeks before the general election.”
