To say that the New York Giants weren’t at their best in Week 1 would be a massive understatement.
Their revamped offensive line didn’t look much better than it was last season.
Their defense failed to gain any sort of momentum, and while Sam Darnold looked elite in this first game with the Minnesota Vikings, Brian Daboll’s team didn’t do much to get in his way.
However, of all the things that went wrong, perhaps Daniel Jones’ performance was the most notorious.
Jones had one of the worst outings of his career, and that’s a lot to say.
When asked about that, former Vikings and Giants TE Kyle Rudolph claimed that it had everything to do with confidence.
Talking to Kay Adams on her Up & Adams Show, he stated that this isn’t the Daniel Jones he played with and watched every day in practice.

“His confidence looks completely destroyed and how can you blame him? Every time he goes out there he’s fighting for his life.”@heykayadams pic.twitter.com/zewaVDQ2Nm

He states that his confidence seems shattered, adding that the Giants need to find a way to get that groove back.
Granted, the best version we saw of Jones wasn’t all that impressive, to begin with, but he did look calm and in control when he was in the pocket.
Jones knows that this could be a make-or-break season for him, and people don’t always know how to deal with that kind of pressure.
Unfortunately, he will have to get it together in no time, as patience is already running low in the Big Apple, and the fans are running out of ways to defend him at this point.
