The San Francisco 49ers were able to defeat the New York Jets with ease in Week One despite being without All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey.
This week, the 49ers will face the Minnesota Vikings, and McCaffrey, who was out against the Jets due to a calf injury and Achilles tendinitis, is not ruling out playing this week.
“My mentality is I’m playing this week…If you can go, you can go,” McCaffrey recently told the San Francisco media.

If the 49ers could get their superstar running back back on the field, that could be huge considering his injury would not be as bad as previously thought.
The reigning Offensive Player of the Year is coming off arguably the best season of his career where he rushed for a career-best 1,459 yards and 21 total touchdowns.
He also put up the second 2,000-yard scrimmage season of his great career.
If McCaffrey were to not play on Sunday against Minnesota, it seems as if San Francisco is quite comfortable with backup running back Jordan Mason going.
Mason ran the ball 28 times for 147 yards and poured in a touchdown against what was supposed to be an elite New York Jets defense last week.
Whoever ends up going at running back for the Niners, the Vikings better be ready for anything and everything.
They don’t exactly have the luxury of going up against the New York Giants this week.
After what Mason did on the ground last week, Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores better have his unit ready for anything.
