Hulu is offering a $30 rebate to folks who sign up for a Hulu Plus Live TV plan.
Hulu Plus Live TV gives subscribers access to more than 95 TV channels, featuring sports, national and local news and a variety of entertainment titles. The service offers access to Hulu’s on-demand streaming library and original programming, along with next-day network TV shows and features like unlimited DVR.
The timing of this deal is noteworthy, considering the ongoing dispute between Disney and DirecTV. Subscribers to the satellite TV service lost access to Disney-owned channels ESPN, ABC, Hulu, Disney Plus, Freeform and FX at the beginning of the month. Each channel is included with a Hulu Plus Live TV subscription.
How long that dispute will last is anyone’s guess. In the meantime, DirecTV is offering billing credits to people affected by the outage.
For viewers wanting to keep up with college football games or the US Open tennis tournament, taking advantage of the Hulu Plus Live TV deal may be a smart move. The Hulu Plus Live TV with Ads tier typically costs $77 per month. With the deal, one month of the service will cost $47.
So, who’s eligible for the deal? In short, everyone. The offer stipulates that all new Live TV with Ads sign-ups can take advantage of the offer, including new Hulu subscribers and upgrades.
Users can expect the $30 rebate as a refund within six to eight weeks after the first month’s bill. The offer is available only on the web and not eligible for mobile or living room devices. The deal will be valid until Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 11:59 pm PT. For more details on the offer and how to sign up, head on over to Hulu.
