UK-based The Compleat Food Group has snapped up local speciality food business Harvey & Brockless.
Financial details were not disclosed.
Harvey & Brockless produces and distributes cheeses, charcuterie, olives and deli products to a selection of hotels and restaurants, farm shops, delicatessens and food manufacturers.
Compleat said the deal will see its annual turnover tick over £1bn ($1.3bn).
With around 500 employees, London-based Harvey & Brockless will continue to operate as its own brand under the leadership of the current management team, led by Simon Yorke, Nick Martin and Jonnie Archer. The family-owned company was founded in 1970 in the county of Sussex, south of the capital.
The deal follows Compleat’s acquisition of SK Foods and Zorba Foods, two dip and party food specialists, in February.

Nick Field, CEO at Compleat, said: “The parallels between our two businesses are very strong, and with the fantastic product range of Harvey & Brockless, the acquisition will further extend The Compleat Food Group’s capabilities to the benefit of our existing customers, whilst also opening up new markets and customers for us to delight more consumers through our great tasting food.”
Compleat was formed in 2021 when private-equity owner – Paris-headquartered PAI Partners – merged its UK portfolio companies Winterbotham Darby and Addo Food Group, which it had bought the year before.
In December 2021, Compleat, which has the ambition to become the country’s “number one chilled prepared food company”, acquired pie maker Wrights Food Group. Two months ago, it bought vegan cheese business Palace Culture.
The group’s existing brands include Pork Farms, Wall’s Pastry, Squeaky Bean, Unearthed and Vadasz.
Nick Martin, managing director at Harvey & Brockless, said: “In The Compleat Food Group we have found a partner which shares our passion for great food and will help us to grow and fulfil our future ambitions.
“The rest of the leadership team and I are looking forward to working with The Compleat Food Group as we continue on the next stage of Harvey & Brockless’ journey.”
