Our team of sleep experts has spent years testing and researching mattresses and deals. These are the sales we think are worth considering.

If you’re a fan of how slow-moving and sinking memory foam is, you’re in luck. You can get up to 40% off Nectar mattresses for Labor Day. This is the standard sale we see from Nectar around the holidays, but it is higher than off-season sales.

This Labor Day mattress sale drops the price of a queen all-foam construction of the flagship Nectar bed to $649. A hybrid construction will only cost $799. You’ll be hard-pressed to find quality beds for that price normally.

CNET

Saatva is known for making ultra-supportive beds, and we’ve put the Saatva Classic on several of our best lists. For Labor Day, Saatva offers CNET readers to save between $200 to $500 when you buy a mattress. You also get an extra $100 off when you add an adjustable base to your mattress purchase, totaling a maximum of $600 off.

This sale runs through Sept. 2.

For Labor Day, every mattress in the Casper catalog is up to 35% off. Casper recently revamped all of its beds, so if you’ve been interested in trying one, now’s the time. This is one of the better sales that Casper has run this year. The popular Casper One mattress is on sale for only $799 during this Labor Day sale. The Dream Hybrid is $1,305 instead of $1,875.

The rest of the site is currently up to 30% off.

This sale also extends to Helix’s bedding and bases.

Is Labor Day a good time to buy a mattress?

There are only a few more holidays left in the year that will help you save hundreds on your next mattress, Labor Day being one of the biggest. Many brands offer the same deals each holiday, though we can’t rule out that some will change up their offerings. If you’ve been considering getting a new bed, it’s a good time to save.

How much should you spend on a bed?

There is a lot of variety in mattress pricing, though the average online mattress falls between $800 and $1,200. If you’re ready to spend a little more, there are great beds on either side of this range, like the Saatva Classic or Tempur-Pedic. If you’re on a budget, the Dreamfoam Doze is around $200 for Labor Day. You probably won’t be able to find a quality bed that is cheaper than that.

How much you spend on a bed will depend entirely on your budget. However, there is one thing for sure: You should never buy a bed for full price. They are almost always on sale, especially around the holidays.
