The San Francisco 49ers and star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk were recently able to agree to terms on a four-year extension worth $120 million ending his holdout.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter broke the news and added that Aiyuk ended up accepting the same offer that had been on the table for three weeks.
Aiyuk’s agent Ryan Williams has now responded to Schefter’s tweet with disagreement.
“That’s factually inaccurate but the check still cashes,” Williams posted on X.

As plugged in as an insider like Adam Schefter might be, he is not in the room while these contract negotiations are going on between organizations and their players.
He is likely not having conversations with players such as Brandon Aiyuk, so he might not always have the most accurate information.
But as Williams stated, the check still cashes for his client.
Aiyuk has secured his bag after a couple of spectacular seasons that have seen him put up 75+ receptions and over 1,000 yards in both 2022 and 2023.
Now, the former first-round pick can put this behind him and prepare for the regular season.
Of course, the front office still has to figure out a resolution with All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams, who is holding out in the hopes of earning his own major extension.
The San Francisco 49ers will kick off their regular season schedule against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.
So, time is still ticking on GM John Lynch and the front office as they hope to have their full team ready to go by Week 1.
