The start of the NFL regular season is just a week away, which means that some teams are still trying to finalize their rosters.
In Miami, the Dolphins have recently announced a couple of roster moves before they officially kick off the season.
“We have signed LS Blake Ferguson and placed S Patrick McMorris on the reserve/injured list,” Miami posted on social media.

Starting with Ferguson, the former national champion at LSU was a sixth-round draft pick by Miami back in 2020.
The Georgia native has not missed a game in four years as the team’s starting long-snapper recording seven total tackles and a fumble recovery.
He has been an integral part of the success on special teams for head coach Mike McDaniel and Co.
Safety Patrick McMorris, another sixth-round draft pick (California), is headed to the injured/reserve list (leg) and will have to miss at least the first four games of the regular season.
Luckily for Miami, they are quite deep at the safety position.
Veterans Jordan Poyer, who was signed over from the rival Buffalo Bills earlier this offseason, and Jevon Holland will man the starting safety spots with Marcus Maye and Elijah Campbell backing them up.
With All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey guarding the boundary, this Dolphins defense, specifically on the backend, is in great shape still.
It would not be a surprise to see more minor roster changes made between now and the team’s Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
