Production Occupations drive social responsibility-related hiring activity

Production Occupations, with a share of 13%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the consumer industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings rising by 25% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 11% in Q2 2024, with new job postings dropping by 2% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social responsibility roles include Sales and Related Occupations with a 9% share in Q2 2024, Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in consumer industry accounted for 24% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were Tyson Foods, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Republic National Distributing, Panera Bread, and PepsiCo. Together they accounted for a combined share of 24% of all social responsibility-related new jobs in the consumer industry.

Tyson Foods posted 4,163 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners 2,130 jobs, Republic National Distributing 1,916 jobs, Panera Bread 1,734 jobs, and PepsiCo 1,037 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 66.37% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024

The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the consumer industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 66.37% followed by the UK (5.49%) and India (4.50%). The share represented by the US was three percentage points higher than the 63.35% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
