The Jacksonville Jaguars will find themselves in a bit of a battle for the AFC South crown during the 2024 NFL season as their rivals improved over the summer.

The Jaguars will be competing with the reigning division winners, the Houston Texans, the Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans.

Houston is projected to win the AFC South again as they greatly bolstered their offense, while Indianapolis and Tennessee lurk as dark horse candidates to make some noise after making their own additions.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville has every reason to feel confident in its chances as they extended Trevor Lawrence for the long haul and added valuable wideouts in Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas.

Ahead of the new season, the Jaguars needed to trim down their training camp roster to meet the league’s roster limit and they announced a series of moves via the teams’ official Twitter account.

“We have made several roster moves.”

According to Jacksonville, they waived defensive end Raymond Johnson, defensive tackle Jonathan Marshall, linebacker Andrew Parker Jr., wide receiver Joseph Scates, defensive end Breeland Speaks and wide receiver Seth Williams.

They also released cornerback Tevaughn Campbell, wide receiver Denzel Mims, tight end Chris Myarick and offensive lineman Keaton Sutherland.

This group of players was likely brought in to help serve as depth during training camp and practices, but now will need to find another way back into the league.

The Jaguars came into the summer with a good idea of what their final roster will look like and it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up against the rest of the AFC.
