The kicking position is one of the most important positions in the NFL simply because any outcome of any game can be decided by a matter of a few points here or there.
The Washington Commanders just recently made the move to acquire a veteran kicker who has had his moments as a young kicker.
According to insider Albert Breer, the Commanders just sent a conditional seventh-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for third-year kicker Cade York.

A former fourth-round pick of the Browns back in 2022, York bounced around to the Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants in 2023 before coming back to Cleveland this offseason.
In his lone season of starting, which was his rookie year, he went 24 of 32 on field goals and 35 of 37 on extra points.
York hit a 58-yard game-winning field goal to start his career off two years ago but has had a little bit of difficulty finding consistency.
Perhaps this new opportunity in Washington can yield better results for the former national champion and All-American.
With talented rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and a revamped regime in the fold, the Commanders are looking to be in a lot of games this year.
That means the kicker is going to have a very important role.
