The New York Jets are in the middle of joint practices with the Carolina Panthers.

The front office is also in the middle of dealing with a contract situation with Pro Bowl edge rusher Haason Reddick.

Pro Bowl linebacker C.J. Mosley recently gave his thoughts on Reddick’s lengthy holdout.

“Don’t really have an opinion. … It hasn’t really come up on our end. … It’s just something that’s not really our focus because we have to get ready for a season,” Mosley said, via Rich Cimini of ESPN. “So when he comes — if he comes — we’re going to be here. We’re going to be the same people. You’re just going to have to adjust and learn really quick on what we have to do. But if not, I’ll just say it is what it is.”

It is clear, at least from Mosley’s answer, that he and his teammates are more focused on what they are doing on the field.

Of course, they could greatly benefit from having Reddick in the building and on the field.

Coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl selections with the Philadelphia Eagles, he has recorded at least 11 sacks in each of the past four seasons.

This Jets defense already has plenty of stars all over the field with the likes of Pro Bowl defensive linemen Quinnen Williams and Jermaine Johnson, Mosley, All-Pro linebacker Quincy Williams and All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner.

But bringing in Reddick to play would be the cherry on top.

Until then, fans can only react to what is happening on the field, and again, judging by Mosley’s answer, the Jets appear to be focused and ready to win some games.

With the leadership of players such as quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Mosley, Gang Green has a real opportunity to have a magical year.

Time will tell if they can put this Reddick chatter to sleep with their play on the field.
