Shane Steichen is one of the youngest head coaches in the National Football League.

He worked his way up in the league, serving in different positions before finally getting the nod to be a coach.

He earned that honor after a couple of seasons as the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator, and it didn’t take long before he proved that he was more than worthy of the opportunity.

That’s why, when asked to describe him, Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson could only call him a genius.

Talking to Kay Adams for her Up & Adams Show, the second-year pro claimed that he was thankful for the fact that his coach knew so much about football, as just being in a room with him allowed him to learn so much about the game.

“I think he’s a genius…honestly,” Richardson said.

Without Steichen in the building, the Eagles’ offense took a big step back.

The Colts, on the other hand, managed to stay in contention not only to win the AFC South Division but also to make the playoffs, and that’s despite Richardson missing most of the season with injuries.

People seem to be sleeping on the Colts right now.

But if Richardson stays healthy, Steichen could continue to be a strong player with this kind of roster, and with him being just 39 years old, he should have a very long and bright future as a head coach in this league.
