After a disastrous end to the 2023 NFL season and perhaps an even worse offseason that resulted in the team losing superstar running back Saquon Barkley to the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles in NFL free agency, the New York Giants will be a team under the microscope in 2024 as there could be some drastic changes if they can’t get back to their form in 2022.
One player who will be under more pressure than any in the city of New York is quarterback Daniel Jones, who signed a lucrative extension before the 2023 campaign and is now viewed as a player the team may have made a big mistake in extending, especially with Barkley leaving because the team didn’t want to pay him what he wanted.
Although Jones appears to be embracing the pressure and using it as motivation, it’s unclear whether he’ll be able to live up to expectations in New York moving forward.
However, the Giants brass did make a move to give Jones some help by selecting potential superstar wide receiver Malik Nabers out of LSU with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Nabers is one of many talented receivers to come out of this draft, but he’s one of only two that were given the distinction as a player downfield that could reach superstar status, which gives Jones a great weapon to work with, as he described on Up & Adams with Kay Adams.
“He goes up and gets the ball, can get open, can run any route, fast, strong. Got everything you want in a receiver,” Jones said.

Only time will tell if Jones can make it work with Nabers during the 2024 campaign because if he can’t create some chemistry with the rookie wideout, the 27-year-old quarterback might outstay his welcome in New York.
It will be the most important season of Jones’ career thus far, as his future will be determined by how well he performs from Week 1 onwards.
