The Dallas Cowboys are in a dangerous situation with All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Lamb has not reported to training camp as he awaits a new contract extension from the team.

Former quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky recently gave his take on the situation in Dallas while on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

“The Cowboys haven’t fumbled a situation like this in years. … They’ve lost some important pieces. … Without CeeDee Lamb, there’s no shot,” Orlovsky said.

Lamb has emerged as one of the best wide receivers in the entire league.

The three-time Pro Bowler has posted three consecutive 1,100-yard seasons and is coming off a season when he led the NFL in receptions (135).

However, the problem is that owner Jerry Jones and the front office have to find a way to pay him, Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott and All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons if they want to keep all three together in the future.

Prescott and Parsons are with the team at training camp, while Lamb obviously is not.

Prescott had a very good season last year, but without Lamb he is not the same quarterback, and the offense just isn’t as powerful.

For Dallas to be playoff and possibly Super Bowl contenders, they absolutely need Lamb on the roster.

That is why there is pressure on Jones to get a deal done quickly.

Time will tell whether or not the two sides can make something work before the regular season begins next month.
