After disastrous stints with the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets, no one knew what the future would hold for one-time NBA champion Kyrie Irving, as it seemed as though he would never reach the heights he once did while playing alongside fellow superstar LeBron James on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Fortunately for Irving, right when everyone started to write him off, he had a career resurgence by getting traded to the Dallas Mavericks to join forces with Slovenian phenom Luka Doncic.
Although the first season together as the new dynamic duo in Dallas was an epic failure, as the team couldn’t even make the NBA playoffs, the second season had a completely different result.
Irving came into his own this past season while sharing the basketball floor with Doncic, resulting in the Mavericks exceeding expectations and becoming the Western Conference champions.
Even though Dallas lost in the NBA Finals to the Boston Celtics, the Mavericks are a team on the rise, and Irving’s fanbase is starting to come alive once again, as he has now been immortalized with an incredible mural on a court in the Philippines via Kyrie Center.

With Irving resurrecting his career in Dallas and Doncic playing the best basketball of his career, the Mavericks could be a legitimate title contender for many years to come.
It’ll be interesting to see if Irving and Doncic can capitalize on an incredible 2023-24 campaign and take it to another level next season while dealing with the stiff competition in the Western Conference.
