The Oregon Ducks, prepping for its first season in the Big 10, are setting the stones for the future. On Saturday, the program got the commitment of Jonas Williams, one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the class of 2026.

Williams chose the Ducks over Alabama, LSU, and Ohio State. On the 247Sports Composite, he was ranked the No. 9 quarterback and No. 98 player overall in the class, and he had 27 offers in total.

Williams made unofficial visits to each of his top four schools before choosing Oregon, according to 247Sports. In an interview with ESPN’s Eli Ledernman, Williams said:

“Oregon is skyrocketing right now. Dan Lanning having that contract is really important. They’re building one of the best ’25 classes in the country. And last season they had the No. 1 offense in college football. It’s everything a quarterback would want.”

Williams excelled in his sophomore season at Bolingbrook (Ill.) High School, passing for 3,196 yards and 33 touchdowns, according to 247Sports. He transferred this summer to Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, Ill.)

This is Oregon’s second major commitment for the class of 2026 over the last week. On August 27, four-star running back Tradarian Ball committed to the Ducks, giving the program a four-star running back ranked on the 247Sports Composite as the third-best RB and the No. 36 overall player in 2026. Oregon’s class is ranked No. 6 overall in these early stages.
