After a successful 2022 NFL season, the New York Giants looked like a team that was ready to break out and become a legitimate force to be reckoned with in the NFC while getting the most out of quarterback Daniel Jones and superstar running back Saquon Barkley.

Unfortunately for New York, the Giants fell back to earth during the 2023 campaign, as the team fell apart while dealing with several injuries that prevented it from reaching its potential.

Despite coming off a disappointing season when they could not return to the NFL playoffs, and then losing Barkley to the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles during the offseason, New York seems confident it can bounce back in 2024.

However, the quarterback position seems to remain an issue, without much confidence that Jones is the right man for the job. The Giants reportedly even considered finding a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft before going with wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Apparently, owner John Mara is still pleased that they gave Jones a lucrative long-term deal, via Giants Videos.

“I’m still happy we gave him that contract,” Mara said. “Let’s give him a chance with a better offensive line with some weapons around him to see what he can do.”

Although this is what Mara is currently saying, he will almost certainly change his tune if Jones can’t turn it around in the 2024 campaign, especially now that he’s been given a potential superstar at wide receiver in Nabers.

Jones must produce during this season, or he could be on his way out of New York.
