“The United Auto Workers is expected to formally endorse Kamala Harris for president, providing a critical boost to her campaign’s efforts to turn out blue-collar voters across battleground states,” Politico reports.
“The union is likely to issue its endorsement in the coming days, according to three people with knowledge of the process, who were granted anonymity to discuss private conversations. They cited a call last week between Harris and UAW President Shawn Fain as crucial to mending a previously unreported rift between Biden and Fain and clinching the support of the influential labor organization.”
“Harris’s ability to lock down the endorsement — and Fain’s support — is particularly notable given the union leader’s intense anger at President Joe Biden and his team in the last several weeks.”
