Appearing on the cover of the 70th-anniversary issue of Sports Illustrated is a huge deal for Tatum and just another accomplishment that he should be proud of.
It’s been a wonderful year for the 26-year-old star.
He seemingly did it all: earned an All-Star appearance, was named All-NBA, and pushed his team to a Finals win.
On top of all that, he was selected to play in the Olympics and has joined LeBron James, Steph Curry, Anthony Edwards, and others in Paris.
Even if his numbers don’t show it, this has been the best season of Tatum’s career.
However, there have been a few glaring issues.
For example, he still received criticism for his leadership skills and missed out on both Eastern Conference Finals MVP and Finals MVP to his friend Jaylen Brown.
Critics will highlight those shortcomings but there is no doubt that Tatum and his Celtics were dominant literally all season long.
Now he will try to continue the streak of big wins in the Olympics, hoping to come home with a gold medal.
Being on the cover of Sports Illustrated is a big deal for Tatum and it’s just the latest milestone he should be proud of.
