The NBA Summer League always features a few breakout performances that turn heads and get people talking.
On Friday night, it was Matt Morgan who played incredibly for the Charlotte Hornets.
According to Bleacher Report, Morgan had a perfect night during Friday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, scoring 36 points, shooting 7-of-7 from the three-point line, and sinking all 11 field goal attempts.
In just 22 minutes, Morgan proved that he could not miss.

For many, this was one of the all-time great Summer League performances and the entire NBA world was talking about how well Morgan did.
Morgan is 26 years old but has never had an official team in the NBA but that may change after Friday night’s perfect game.
He has been averaging 17.8 points per game in the Las Vegas Summer League and has shot 61.5% from the field and 56% from beyond the three-point line.
Since going undrafted in 2019, Morgan has played in multiple Summer Leagues with the Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers.
He has also appeared with the Raptors’ G League team.
But none of his stints in the Summer League have converted into a long-term contract and he is still without an NBA home.
However, numerous Hornets fans are saying the team would be crazy not to sign him after this summer.
This is what the Summer League is all about.
It opens the door for young players, who can transition into careers with NBA teams or their G League affiliates.
Morgan has never made that leap but he probably will now that he has done so well.
