The Cincinnati Bengals are poised to bounce back in 2024 after their 2023 NFL season was riddled with injuries to key players.

Joe Burrow was lost for the second half of the year after injuring his wrist, though he’s expected to be ready for the start of the 2024 NFL season.

With Burrow and the rest of the offense expected to be available, Cincinnati should be considered a serious threat to compete in a competitive AFC.

Training camp is scheduled to begin this week and the Bengals will have a chance to integrate some of their new pieces.

However, Cincinnati announced a few of their players will be unavailable to start training camp and potentially the regular season via the team’s official Twitter account.

“We have made the following transactions: – placed CB DJ Ivey and DT Devonnsha Maxwell on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list – placed TE Erick All Jr. on the Active/Non-Football Injury list”

DJ Ivey and Devonnsha Maxwell being placed on the active/physically unable to perform list indicates that they’ll miss at least a part of training camp though they can be activated any time prior to the regular season.

Meanwhile, rookie Erick All Jr. is currently recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in college and will likely miss time during the regular season.

Fortunately for Cincinnati, those three players shouldn’t affect the team’s overall outlook as their core pieces should be ready to go.

A fully healthy Bengals team can compete with every team in the league and it’ll be interesting to see how far they can go.
