Prime Day tech deals under $50

ESR/CNET

This ESR wallet snaps onto the back of your phone and serves as a two-way adjustable stand so you can watch your phone in portrait or landscape. Plus, this nifty device has a finger loop for a secure hold, it works with Apple’s Find My so you can track it if it’s within 50 meters and if fits up to three cards for easy access.

Marked down by $16, there’s also an on-page coupon that allows you to save 10%, which knocks a few more dollars off the price.

  • No fast wireless charging (only 7.5 watts)

What’s cool about Anker’s 622 magnetic battery is that it’s a wireless battery that has an integrated magnetic flap that converts into a stand. You won’t get fast wireless charging from this 5,000-mAh battery (it charges at up to 7.5 watts) but it’s slim and easy to carry around.

It charges via USB-C and if you use a USB-C to Lightning to charge your iPhone, it will charge at a faster rate of 12 watts. That’s not as fast as what a 20-watt USB-C power adapter can deliver, but it’s faster than 7.5 watts.

Note that Anker has updated this model to move the charging port to the side (from the bottom), so you can charge it while using it as a stand. Do not buy the old version that confusingly retains the same 622 model number.

HyperX/CNET

Compatible with Xbox One, Series S and X, these cushioned wired headphones have a detachable mic, enhanced sound quality and in-line audio controls. Normally priced at $70, these headphones can be yours for $50.

Energizer/CNET

Prime members save $12 on this midsize flashlight that’s durable and rated for 1,000 lumens (that’s pretty darn bright) with a 4-hour runtime on high mode. Alas, it recharges with a Micro-USB cable, not USB-C. But a lot of rechargeable flashlights haven’t switched over to USB-C yet. (There’s also a version that takes AA batteries.)

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day was a two-day sale that took place this July and offered exclusive savings to Amazon Prime subscribers with limited-time offers, flash deals and rock-bottom prices. It’s a rare chance to score Black Friday-level pricing outside of November so it is usually well worth shopping.

When is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day took place on July 16 and 17 this year. The best deals are usually available just for the two-day period, but Amazon frequently has some deals ahead of, and after, the big event.

What should I buy during Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon offers discounts on just about all of its categories for Prime Day. Big savings typically can be seen with Amazon smart home devices, tablets and TVs as well as with everyday items, fashion, home goods, kitchen gadgets and more.

Are there sales happening at other retailers during Amazon Prime Day?

Each Prime Day, we see other retailers announcing sales that directly compete with Amazon’s event. This year, WalmartTarget and Best Buy have all run anti-Prime Day sales — many of them still going.
