BALTIMORE, MD - JULY 14: (L-R) Head athletic trainer Brian Ebel, Jordan Westburg #11, Anthony Santander #25, Adley Rutschman #35, and Gunnar Henderson #2 of the Baltimore Orioles are recognized for being selected to the 2024 All-Star game before the game against the New York Yankees at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on July 14, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland.

This year’s MLB All-Star Game uniforms featured National Leaguers wearing a navy base with light blue lettering while the American League donned a sandy base with red sleeves and lettering.

For players and fans alike, they were an eyesore.

Some All-Stars expressed their desire for participants to return to the more traditional individual team attire worn for 162 games.

There are many who see the uniforms as glorified pajamas that are worn for no other reason than to inspire social media engagement.

Commentator Adam Schein disparaged MLB for outfitting players in what he considered to be substandard outfits for the Midsummer Classic.

“You’re telling me after all these years, Pittsburgh Pirates fans want to see Paul Skenes wearing that sack of garbage on the mound?” Schein said.

Schein believes that Baltimore Orioles fans are sorely disappointed when, after so many years of mediocrity, they finally are able to enjoy their stars shining in the All-Star Game, but in ugly uniforms.

He further complained that, even if the uniforms were beautiful, they take away the sentiment and the team loyalty and replace them with logos from the respective leagues.

Fans would much rather see their stars wearing their team jerseys as they represent the franchise in the Midsummer Classic, according to Schein.

He ripped the uniform choices as “embarrassing in every possible way” and an issue that should be taken up by MLB.

Schein noted that Philadelphia Phillies star first baseman Bryce Harper also criticized the outfits and called for a return to the traditional All-Star Game uniforms.

As for the game itself, the American League won 5-3, and Boston Red Sox center fielder Jarren Duran took home the MVP honors.
