After changing to head coach Josh McDaniels and bringing in veteran journeyman Jimmy Garoppolo to replace Derek Carr at the quarterback position, the Las Vegas Raiders were going in one of two directions during the 2023 NFL season.

Although the roster showed some promise, the first half of the 2023 campaign turned out to be a nightmare for Las Vegas, as it was a disaster with McDaniels running show and Garoppolo unable to shoulder the load under center.

Fortunately, longtime owner Mark Davis didn’t wait too long before making a decision to shake things up as he fired McDaniels on Halloween, resulting in giving Antonio Pierce an opportunity to prove his worth as the head coach.

Ultimately, Pierce did an admirable job as the interim head coach, which earned him the job this NFL offseason, which may result in this team trending up next season because all of his players have bought in.

However, some believe that the 2024 campaign could be another disaster for the Raiders, with superstar wide receiver Davante Adams eventually wanting out or the team seriously considering trading him to get value in return.

Veejay Huskey of FOX Sports Radio believes the team will move him before the NFL trade deadline.

“Davante Adams will not be a Raider at the trade deadline,” Huskey said.

Although Adams has been adamant about wanting to stay with the Raiders, that could easily change if the team is going nowhere next season, as he won’t want to waste another year of his prime in the NFL.

Only time will tell how it pans out in Las Vegas, but this could be an unfortunate outcome if the team struggles early in the 2024 campaign.
