Father Time is undefeated, and no NBA player besides LeBron James has been able to get the best of him just yet.
Unfortunately, that’s been particularly true for Kevin Durant.
One of the best scorers in the game, Durant’s impact goes way beyond the stat sheet, but he’s been unable to shake off multiple nagging injuries as of late.
That’s why some people sounded off the alarm when news broke of a Durant injury during Team USA practice.
A report by ESPN revealed that as much as Coach Steve Kerr publicly downplayed any concern, Durant sat out practice again Saturday and is unlikely to play in their exhibition game vs. Australia on Monday.
Kevin Durant missed Team USA practice again Saturday with a calf strain and likely won’t play when the Americans face Australia in a friendly set for Monday.

Per the report, the veteran forward is dealing with a calf strain.
Calf injuries are quite tricky, and they should be a major concern for aging players, particularly for Durant.
They can often lead to Achilles injuries, and that has already happened to him in the past.
Durant is a pure hooper and the ultimate plug-and-play guy, but even he might not be able to come back from another major injury at this point in his career.
He’s already done and won everything in the league, and he’s talked about his desire to play for a very, very long time.
If that’s his desire, maybe he could consider sitting out this one and not risking further injury, especially with the Phoenix Suns looking to bounce back next season and pursue a championship while their title window is still open.
