PlayStation players, reach for the stars. Gamers are reporting that Sony’s PlayStation loyalty program, PS Stars, is returning for North and South American players after a monthlong interruption. Players who use Reddit are beginning to report that they’re seeing PS Stars back up and running, though players may need to update their app.
According to IGN, the program has been down since June 6. PushSquare.com reports that the program returned to Asia, Australia and Europe before beginning to return to the Americas.
Players who made purchases that would’ve earned them points during the hiatus will receive those points now that it’s back, according to TrueTrophies.com.
Sony and PlayStation didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
The official website for the loyalty program still carries a message warning that the program is down.
“PlayStation Stars will be returning soon in phased regional rollouts,” the site said as of July 12. “Thank you for your patience and we look forward to welcoming you back”
The free program launched in 2022. Gamers can sign up on the PlayStation website or on the PlayStation iOS or Android app.
Players earn points and rewards by participating in campaigns such as playing certain games or buying games in the PlayStation store. Members can also level up their status by buying games on the PlayStation Store and earning trophies.
