It goes without saying that, for the most part, you have to be an elite athlete to make it to the NFL.

And while obviously, that’s not the only thing it takes, some of the guys we see on the gridiron every week could easily thrive with other sports as well, perhaps not at the same elite level but they could at least hold their own.

That was evident again in a clip shared by New York Jets star Sauce Gardner.

Gardner showed off his golfing skills with an impressive drive.

He followed that up by celebrating and doing a backflip.

Needless to say, the Jets would most definitely rather he avoids any unnecessary risk or injury, but he just couldn’t help it.

Gardner has already become one of the best defensive backs in the game, and that athleticism is just one of the many reasons why.

The Jets will hope he anchors their championship-caliber defense for years to come, and given their Super Bowl aspirations, he’s going to have to be at his best on every single snap.

It’s been more than a long while since the Jets last made it to the big game, and they’re banking all their hopes on Aaron Rodgers to get them over the hump once and for all, and they have the talent and roster to pull it off.

Then again, if things don’t work out, perhaps the talented defensive back could pursue a career in a different sport.
