The Los Angeles Clippers need Kawhi Leonard to be out there and healthy.
To be more specific, they need him to be out there and healthy in the playoffs.
Leonard decided to withdraw himself from Team USA and will now miss the Olympics in an attempt to stay healthy for the season.
With that in mind, Stephen Curry talked about how much he knew Leonard wanted to play, as well as hoping that his health situation is going to get better in the future because he’s one of the best players in the league (via Michael Scotto).
Steph Curry on Kawhi Leonard withdrawing from Team USA before the Olympics: “I know he wanted to play… Hopefully, for the long term, he’s in a good place because the game needs him. When he’s not out there, you miss an all-time great player. We hope he’s ready for this season.” pic.twitter.com/0M3S5UfLtD

When healthy, Leonard is most definitely a top-five player in the league, and some might even say he’s top-three.
Then again, it’s been five years since he’s been fully healthy, and it’s starting to look like he’s not going to be at full strength ever again.
Of course, everybody would love to get an opportunity to represent their country in the ultimate sporting event, but you have to make sure you’re also available for your actual job first.
Leonard hasn’t helped the Clippers reach the NBA Finals.
As great a player as he is, that’s an investment Steve Ballmer hasn’t gotten any returns on.
