On Wednesday morning, it was announced that Kawhi Leonard will not be a part of Team USA in the upcoming Paris Olympics due to a nagging injury.

This was just the latest setback to Leonard’s health and it has people once again questioning what’s next for the Los Angeles Clippers star.

Paul Pierce made a bold statement on Thursday’s “Undisputed,” via ClutchPoints.

He said Leonard should seriously consider retiring if he experiences another injury in the upcoming season.

“This is just for the guy’s health. He’s missed 44% of the games… You really got to think about the long run for yourself,” Pierce said.

Leonard is no stranger to injuries.

In fact, he has missed 55% of games over the last three seasons.

The Clippers always seem on the verge of finally meeting their potential and a large reason for their disappointing setbacks is Leonard’s continued problems.

It seems he is missing games right when his team needs him most.

And it also looks like a problem that isn’t close to being resolved.

Pierce noted that Leonard is still a young man in the eyes of society.

He is just 33 years old and has his whole life ahead of him.

Pierce claimed that Leonard doesn’t want to be hobbling around in his forties because he pushed himself too hard during his NBA career.

Instead, he should contemplate hanging up his jersey if his injury problem isn’t fixed soon.

Team USA said that Leonard wanted to be in the Olympics and was eager to play but the medical staff and Clippers decided he should preserve himself and get healthy for next season.

But many people are wondering if we will ever see a fully healthy Leonard again.
