Where will Lauri Markkanen be next season?

That is the question that many NBA fans are asking right now, as the Utah Jazz are toying with the idea of sending away the former Most Improved Player of the Year.

They are willing to hear all offers on Markkanen but will only agree to one they’re really excited about.

According to Brett Siegel, the Jazz are “currently leaning more in the direction of keeping” the Finnish star, particularly because he wants to stick with the team.

However, Siegel revealed that the Jazz have received an offer that includes three first-round picks, although they haven’t accepted it.

Just a year ago, the Jazz were insistent that they weren’t going to part ways with Markkanen.

This was after his first season in Utah when he averaged 25.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

They still believe that he could be the future of the franchise, but the Jazz are also open to the idea of shipping him away if the right deal is presented to them.

As great as Markkanen is, Utah has some concerns about him.

They are specifically worried about just how much money he will demand in an upcoming contract extension.

Additionally, he has a history of injuries, which is scary for a front office that would like to build the roster around him.

Over the last few seasons, the Jazz have shown that they demand a lot in any kind of trade.

Therefore, if Markkanen does leave Utah, it’ll be for a massive haul from another team.

It seems like he will probably remain with his team next season but there is still a chance Markkanen departs if the right package comes to the Jazz.
