The Los Angeles Lakers are a team desperate to make moves this summer as they want to convince LeBron James to re-sign with the team and put a talented roster around him and fellow superstar Anthony Davis to compete in the Western Conference over the next couple of years.

Along with exploring their options in NBA free agency, which got underway on Sunday afternoon, the Lakers have been weighing their options in terms of trading for potential game-changing players with the assets that they have.

As usual, the Lakers have been mentioned in trade rumors constantly this year, and that hasn’t changed going into free agency, with the team anxiously trying to upgrade its roster to compete with the heavyweights in the West.

According to Anthony Irwin of Lakers Daily via Legion Hoops, one notable player the Lakers have reportedly explored trade talks in acquiring is Portland Trail Blazers star Jerami Grant.

With the Blazers in full rebuild mode right now, Portland seems open to making deals and getting younger with hopes of building around promising young point guard Scoot Henderson.

Grant’s sizable contract and the fact the team wouldn’t mind starting from scratch in the aftermath of trading superstar guard Damian Lillard ahead of last season isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that he’s moved at some point this summer.

However, it remains to be seen whether the team that ends up trading for him is the Lakers, as the storied franchise seems to have a number of options they are exploring.
