Bronny James wasn’t picked in night one of the NBA draft Wednesday which means his only chance of entering the league rests on Thursday night’s results.
This might be a blessing in disguise for James, according to Paul Pierce.
Speaking on “Undisputed,” Pierce said that being a second-round pick could motivate and drive James.
“Not getting picked in the first round might be the best thing for him. He understands he has to reprove himself,” Pierce stated.

Pierce referenced his own time in the draft years ago when he was selected as the tenth pick even though he was envisioned as a top-three choice.
He said that only made him want to play better and do more.
He wanted to prove everyone wrong and show that he had what it took to be one of the best players in the league.
Clearly, he had a lot of success with that and went on to be a ten-time All-Star, champion, and Hall of Famer.
Most people have predicted that James will be a second-round selection.
And just a few months ago, there was a lot of speculation about him not even making the draft at all.
He has worked through a lot of adversity lately and has tried to prove that he’s more than the son of LeBron.
James surprised many people with a strong showing at the recent NBA combine.
Can he keep surprising them in the months ahead and will his selection in the second round of the draft fire him up?
James’ fate will be known on Thursday night and then he will get to work at showing the NBA world who he really is.
