The San Antonio Spurs could potentially be looking at pairing two giants together in the frontcourt.
Ahead of this month’s NBA Draft, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, the Spurs are interested in drafting star UConn big man Donovan Clingan.
“San Antonio has expressed increasing interest in Clingan, as of late, even going as far as interviewing him in recent days to get to know him better,” Givony recently noted.
The Spurs are showing interest in pairing Donovan Clingan with Victor Wembanyama, per @DraftExpress

After seeing this report, everyone from the media to true fans of the sport all most likely have one common thought:
San Antonio could be looking to pair Clingan with NBA Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama, who is even taller than Clingan at 7-4.
Gregg Popovich getting to coach two talented, seven-foot players together could be quite the sight and a real problem for the rest of the league.
Everyone who follows the NBA knows how dominant Wembanyama was as a rookie last year.
He made the All-Defensive First-Team after leading the league in blocks (254).
He also showed that he can play the game like a point guard with his ball-handling skills and court vision.
There isn’t another player and athlete like him at the moment.
Clingan was the anchor for the back-to-back champs in the Connecticut Huskies.
Just 20 years of age, the 7-2 center could be yet another defensive force in the middle for San Antonio (averaged 2.5 blocks per game last year at Connecticut).
Perhaps the addition of Clingan could give Spurs fans a similar feeling to that of when they had David Robinson and Tim Duncan patrolling the paint.
