Luka Doncic just experienced his first time in the NBA Finals and it didn’t go well.
Even though the Dallas Mavericks had a very strong second half of the season, they didn’t have what it took to stop the Boston Celtics.
Some people criticized Doncic’s performance during the Finals, including his dismal showing in Game 3.
On Wednesday’s “Get Up,” per ClutchPoints, Zach Lowe spoke about Doncic and mentioned the many ways he can get better in the years ahead.
However, he added that the Mavericks “are nowhere without him” and said he is “maybe the single-most feared player in the league to game plan against.”
“[The Mavericks] are nowhere without him… He is an MVP candidate every single year… and he is maybe the single-most most feared player in the league to game plan against.”

Lowe noted that Doncic is an MVP candidate every single year and is easily one of the greatest young stars in the league.
Yet, he is far from perfect and has multiple areas that need improvement.
For instance, Doncic received very bad reviews for his lack of defense in Game 3 of the Finals.
He was also lambasted for the way he argued with referees and racked up six fouls and an ejection when his team needed him most.
Lowe said the Mavericks have spoken with Doncic about these issues, as well as his physical conditioning.
Because he is a young man, he can work on all of that and improve in the seasons ahead.
Perhaps these Finals were a wake-up call and Doncic will get right to work on improving himself.
The Mavericks came closer than they have in years but they didn’t come close enough.
If they wish to win a championship in the future, they will need Doncic, and they will require that he make a few changes.
