Bronny James’ draft stock has already been the main topic of discussion for the 2024 NBA Draft, especially since this class is so lacking in star power that it is already being tossed in with some of the worst draft classes of all time.
We haven’t heard a peep about who the projected top 3 picks are as most media pundits are running with the chance to talk about LeBron James more often, and Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle recently hinted at when fans can expect Bronny to be off the board.
On an episode of Green Light With Chris Long, Carlisle suggested that Bronny could get drafted higher than pick No. 50 but admitted he can’t say much more than that, saying “I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that he goes quite a bit higher than that…I’m not going to say who…I’ve been fined enough this year during the playoffs.”

Bronny had an impressive performance at the NBA Draft Combine that seemed to solidify his status as a legitimate prospect in the upcoming draft, and it was a necessary showing given how unexceptional he was in his one season at USC.
LeBron hasn’t been subtle about his desire to play with his son, so many have expected the Los Angeles Lakers to take Bronny much earlier than most teams would.
The Lakers have the 17th and 56th picks in this draft, and the Pacers have picks 36, 50, and 51 in the second round, so perhaps Carlisle didn’t want to overplay his hand and we could see Bronny in Indiana.
