For the last 30 years or so, the Washington Commanders have been NFL laughingstocks, and it has disturbed long-time fans who remember a time when the team was one of the more successful franchises in the league.
In the 1980s and early-1990s, they won three Super Bowl championships under head coach Joe Gibbs, but two generations of fans have only known the team as one that simply cannot figure out how to have even a touch of success.
But now, with new ownership in place and a potential franchise quarterback in Jayden Daniels, the No. 2 pick in this year’s draft, the Commanders may finally be on the right track.
On their official Twitter account, they let it be known that all of the players they drafted this April are now officially signed.

Daniels had a whale of a 2023 season at LSU, throwing for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns and adding 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
He won the Heisman Trophy and a slew of other individual awards, and in most years, he likely would’ve easily been the No. 1 pick in the draft.
But Washington also has a few other incoming rookies who could turn out to be viable players.
Defensive lineman Jer’Zhan Newton was one of the more highly ranked defensive linemen coming into the draft, while Mike Sainristil is a promising cornerback.
With the No. 100 pick in the third round, Washington took Luke McCaffrey, a wide receiver out of Rice University who is the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey, the reigning Offensive Player of the Year.
He is also the son of two-time Super Bowl champion Ed McCaffrey, and he posted 992 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns last season.
