I love the options, fun, and confidence that wearing makeup can bring but at the end of a long day you know what I don’t love?! Taking it off. This is where we thought here at LIY we needed to take on the dirty work [dirt, oils, and foundation on our faces being said dirty work 😅] of testing out 8 of the top makeup wipes to determine which were the best of the best! We used a different brand of makeup wipe each day to remove our makeup, then followed it up by using an Elemis resurfacing pad to test how effective each wipe really was. Each of us that tested have a bit different skin type and level of face makeup usage, so that is the reason for some of us having differing opinions of which were our favorites!
While testing we really kept three main things in mind:
- How well the makeup was removed with the wipe
- How our skin felt after use
- Would we use or purchase them again

Hot tip: Using a makeup wipe is not meant to replace your cleanser! You still need to give your face a good cleansing to really wash off all of the dirt, makeup, and bacteria from the day! 😉 Read our simple skincare guide for beginners here!
Worth the purchase:
OVERALL FAVORITE!
Noteworthy: OVERALL FAVE! Out of all of the wipes, these had the thickest [besides the Makeup Eraser having a towel-like feel] and highest quality feel! They also did the best job in our opinion of removing makeup!
Noteworthy: We found these very hydrating are very love that they are biodegradable! However, they do have a stronger scent than the others if that is something that bothers you.
Noteworthy: The makeup eraser removed our makeup SO well! They are reusable and have a washcloth feel! Since there’s no product on the cloth, it did not leave our skin feeling hydrated or dehydrated at all!
Mixed Reviews:
Noteworthy: These are great for hydration, but some of us didn’t think they felt as good as others on the skin!
Noteworthy: These wipes came individually wrapped making them great for travel and have 4 in 1 skincare. However, they seem to have stronger ingredients and smell leaving this one as a mixed bag for our thoughts and reasoning for if we would purchase again or not!
Save Your Money:
Noteworthy: These have a stronger scent and we just felt that ultimately other wipes worked better!
Noteworthy: Overall we did not love the feel of this wipe on the skin or our skin afterward!
