The Dallas Cowboys have been relatively quiet when it has come to personnel moves this offseason, and it is something that has likely disappointed their fans.

The team needs to give contract extensions to quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and pass rusher Micah Parsons, and it is presumed that is why they haven’t been aggressive this offseason.

Although Dallas’ defense looked dominant at times last season, it got exposed in their Wild Card playoff round loss to the Green Bay Packers, and upgrades at the linebacker position were needed.

Per Tom Pelissero, they will be bringing in Willie Harvey Jr., a star LB from the United Football League (UFL), for a workout on Tuesday.

In 10 games last season, Harvey had 78 tackles, 4.0 sacks, nine tackles for loss, and six passes defended as a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks.

He had previously been a member of the Cleveland Browns for a couple of seasons after he was an undrafted rookie out of Iowa State University.

Unlike Major League Baseball and, to a certain extent, the NBA, the NFL doesn’t have a minor league or farm system, but some believe the UFL, which consists of the teams that used to play in the now-defunct XFL and USFL, could become just that.

Dallas did sign Eric Kendricks, an inside linebacker who spent last season with the Los Angeles Chargers, this spring in free agency, and it is hoped he will fill a sizable void.

The Cowboys have lost key players on defense such as defensive end Dorance Armstrong and defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, and they could end up losing five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who is still a free agent.
